Dined there on Saturday night. Eceptionally good food. Staff very helpful. I had two starters, the Game Goujons and the Five Spiced Shredded Duck Leg. My wife had the Partridge Risotto and the Black Bull Cheesecake; all excellent. Washed down with an excellent couple of pints and a half pint of cider for my wife

If you are in the area HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. Food is AMAZING, service was amazing. They accommodated out part of 8 which included two children kindly, and graciously. We stayed in the area for 3 weeks and went there three times.

Visited this week family and friends for an evening meal, the wife had the stone bass and loved it I had the steak. The steak was cooked to perfection unfortunately can’t say the same about the chips, rock hard teeth breakers. Almost impossible to cut and crunch. Service was very good and friendly.

Stayed on a number of occasions when their prices and my budget coincides. Rooms are great and more importantly warm at this time of year. Food is always good and service is excellent. Do like stopping here as it’s only 500 yards away from my client. Cater quite a bit for shooting parties. Rooms: Warm and nicely decorated.

After being let down on a wet Saturday evening at a well known Berwick eatery, we got a last minute table at The Black Bull. What a stroke of luck.... Great service, delicious food and simple, comfortable decor. Enjoyed the venison burger, my son had a venison in red wine pie, and there was a lovely fish dish for Doc. Kids meals too, proper burger or other home made choices. I recommend it to you.

We only went for dinner and it was beautiful. The portion sizes were good and the quality was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and great with our 4 year old son. The decor added to the atmosphere which was nice, historic and quiet. We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely go back.

Visited the hotel for evening meal and had a wonderful meal of venison haunch with black pudding and butternut squash. It was so tasty and looked so good I never took a photo. Had mango and pineapple cheesecake for dessert which was lovely as well. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area. Located in Lowick a lovely little town within good driving distance of many tourist attractions. Food & drinks: A great menu with loads to choose from. Friendly staff. Food tastes great.

Excellent village pub but don't leave getting a table to chance. Luckily we visited on a lovely evening (1730 hours) and were able to eat outside. We visited again three days later but booked a table beforehand. Excellent menu and food which most was gluten free. My wife is a coeliac and was able to enjoy a very good selection from all three courses. Not easy to find such a gem out in the sticks and was the only pub within miles that could guarantee total gluten free. Good choice of beers made both visits most enjoyable.

Just had a Venison and Red Wine Pie here and it was absolutely beautiful. Credit to the chef. 10/10 Veg was cooked to perfection too. Highly recommend eating here. Staff were very busy but still managed to be polite and attentive on a busy Sunday evening.

We were staying in the area, the Black Bull came recommended. We just rocked up, not thinking about booking. Despite being about fully booked, a place was found for us. The service was slick and well practised. In no time at all we both had our drinks and set to peruse the menu. The choice was varied. Along with the specials there was adequate choice. I'm personally happier with a manageable menu. I chose the pie of the week, which was Beef and Guiness. The better half chose a Duck Salad. We both really enjoyed our meals. The BB soon filled up and became rather busy for a Tuesday late afternoon. I would advise booking should you plan to visit. Having been suitably fed and watered, we returned to exploring one of the finest counties in England. Thanks to the BB for fitting us in.
